Supporting Local Charities: CLASP Wokingham

Updated: Mar 3, 2021

This Christmas we are really pleased to announce we are supporting CLASP Wokingham. Those who know Honeste will know charity and paying it forward is of huge importance to both Katherine and myself.

So, this Christmas we have donated our favourite ‘The Cat and The Heart’ - Wall Art Print and our ‘My Rules My Kitchen’ sustainable wooden fork to CLASP Wokingham.

About CLASP

CLASP Wokingham is a brilliant charity supporting adults with learning difficulties.

CLASP stands for:

· Caring

· Listening

· And

· Supporting

· Partnership

An amazing group of self-advocacy individuals who employ people with learning difficulties as well as providing volunteering opportunities. They also support and deliver training on learning disability awareness, run projects, provide information, advice as well as one to one support for individuals.

Why CLASP

Louise first came across CLASP in March of this year during the first national lockdown. Louise became a volunteer manager at the Wokingham Borough Community Hub which was rapidly formed by the council, local charities and residents to respond to those in need during the lockdown. CLASP provided food parcels, baby and infant nappies and formula as well as pet foods for those in need within the community. During that time, Louise met Debra who is a manager at CLASP and started learning about all the wonderful work the charity does. Over the spring and summer, meeting more people involved in this wonderful organisation, it meant a lot to be able to do something and support them through Honeste.

We are so happy to be able to give in a small way back to such a wonderful cause. The self-advocacy of CLASP and the work they do is incredible and if we can help raise awareness and support, we are thrilled to do so.

What we are donating:

We are donating our Cat and The Heart A3 Art print. This simple but eye-capturing design is a great addition to any room in a house. We love the simplicity of our print with just a pop of colour. Of course, the prints are printed on FSC Forest Stewardship Council certified photo paper and harvested in a responsible manner. The ink cartridges used are donated to raise funds for another great charity – Whale and Dolphin Conservation.

The second item we have donated is our sustainably-sourced wooden ‘My Rules My Kitchen’ salad fork. These utensils are made from sustainably sourced eco-friendly wood from managed woodland. The engraving uses a laser engraver powered by 100% renewable electricity (as is our printer for the art prints). This is a simple practical utensil that also adds a little bit of fun and cheekiness to any kitchen.

Both of these items are going into CLASP’s advent raffle with winners and prizes going out every day in the run-up to Christmas. It’s been great fun to see the community getting involved so far and seeing the winners each day.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and hopefully, we will meet in the new year at a volunteering event.
